The Short Version
Ragged Right collects nothing about you. There is no account, no cookie, no analytics script, no advertising and no third-party code on the page. The face is measured and every line is broken by the page itself, in your browser, and nothing you paste is sent to us or to anyone else.
Who Publishes It
Ragged Right is published by PaintedApp, LLC. Questions about this policy, or about anything the page does with your information, go to support@painted.app, and a person reads every message.
What the Page Does With Your Paragraph
When you paste a paragraph and press Set This Paragraph, the page breaks it with code that runs on your device. The paragraph, the measure, the tolerance and the hyphenation switch are written into the page’s own address (for example ?m=500, or #p= followed by your words) so that you can bookmark or share a view. That means your paragraph appears in your browser history and in any link you choose to send, so do not paste anything you would not put in a link. The part after the # is never sent to any server, ours included; the rest of the address reaches the host only as part of an ordinary page request.
What Is Stored on Your Device
After your first visit, the page keeps a copy of its own files (the page, its stylesheet, its script, its two faces and its icons) in your browser’s cache storage, so that it opens and sets paragraphs without a network connection. That copy holds no personal information and nothing you pasted. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser’s settings. The page sets no cookies and uses no local storage.
The Host
The page is served by Vercel Inc. Like every web host, Vercel receives the technical details that any request carries, such as your IP address, your browser’s name and the time, in order to deliver the page and protect it from abuse. We have not turned on any analytics or tracking product, and we do not use those details to identify or follow anyone. Vercel’s own privacy policy governs what Vercel keeps.
Children
The page collects nothing from anyone, children included. Nothing about using it asks for a name, an email address or an age.
Your Requests
Because the page holds no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to give you, correct or delete. If you believe otherwise, or you have any other question, write to support@painted.app and we will answer.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new text will be published on this page with a new effective date at the top. A change that collects anything at all would be stated here before it took effect.
